Data presented at CVIT 2012, Niigata Japan – July 2012
Ninety six patients who used HemCon Patch for hemostasis after femoral approach sheath removal were evaluated for efficacy of hemostasis and vascular complication in Japan.
Using HemCon Patch combined with 5 minutes manual compression for femoral artery puncture site hemostasis obtained an effective and comparable level of safety. The clinical experiences of HemCon Patch usage showed only one vascular complication. Its rate as 1.04% is equal to or better than published reports.
Advantages of HemCon Patch are as follows:
• It is a simple mechanism;
• It requires minimum training to be proficient;
• It is cost-effective.
