All Success Stories > I use it on bleeds resistant to everything else in the ER
I’m an ER doctor in a non-trauma center and I keep a supply of HemCon in my work bag, and I use it on bleeds resistant to everything else. Although I don’t need it often, when I need it, I need it! I used it the other night on a guy who was oozing from a suture site and it was his second visit to the ER for it; we couldn’t get it to stop any other way. Prior to that, it was on someone who had a wound debridement that wouldn’t stop bleeding through the pressure dressings. Both time it was my stash of HemCon to the rescue. Other times I have found it useful is on dialysis fistulas we can’t get to stop by using the “usual methods”. I like having HemCon around as I really do feel they are the best thing for the patient.
